Hubbell Homes Receives ENERGY STAR® Achievement Award
WEST DES MOINES, Iowa (March 21, 2006) – Hubbell Homes has received the ENERGY STAR® Achievement Award, sponsored by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). In 2005, every Hubbell Home was constructed to meet the ENERGY STAR® standards, exceeding the achievement award’s minimum requirement of 50 homes.
Through efficient building practices and materials, ENERGY STAR® helps homebuyers save money on monthly utility bills while reducing air pollution. Some of the efficient products that contribute to these energy and monetary savings include increased levels of insulation, properly sealed ducts, efficient windows, and high-efficiency heating and cooling equipment.
Every new Hubbell Home meets the ENERGY STAR® standards. These homes are approximately 30 percent more efficient than standard homes built to the Model Energy Code. Benefits of efficient construction include an increase in indoor air quality, noise reduction, and an all around more comfortable indoor environment.
